That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;
That the brother of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;
That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;
That government should be of laws rather than of men;
That earth’s great treasure lies in human personality;
And that service to humanity is the best work of life.
The Original Active Citizens
As global citizens, we all have rights and responsibilities, as well as shared goals. Through active citizenship, we enact our sense of social responsibility to work towards these goals and benefit communities worldwide. Our Founder, Henry Giessenbier, was the original active citizen. He took steps to engage young people in civic involvement in 1914, and JCI Members worldwide have followed his lead ever since and members of JCI Lantau (Prov) will promote such believes within and around Lantau.
Making a World of Difference
There is a limit to what governments are able to achieve in society. As responsible citizens in a globalized world, members of JCI Lantau will take on the challenge posed in and out of Lantau and provide development initiatives that will align with the strategic goals of its surrounding communities.
Members of JCI Lantau continuously seek ways to engage with the communities within Lantau and outside of Lantau. It is believed that by bridging what can be offered within Lantau and vice versa, a synergy can be formed for creating a better future.
A Grassroots Movement with International Scope
Given Lantau's strategic location, any local action will surely give an impact at the global level. Members of JCI Lantau understands this and will therefore unite with the global community to create local changes that have a global impact.
